Woodlands Student Care Centre (SCC)
It is an after-school care centre located in Woodlands, which provides children aged 7 to 14 with a conducive and enjoyable learning environment. The fees needed to be enrolled into the centre are at affordable rates in order to help the less privileged families. Special financial schemes are available for children from low-income families. Dedicated teachers in the centre supervise the children's homework, conduct revision, provide healthy meals and enrichment activities for the children.

project details
At the student care centre, my group conducted an hour-long session thrice within two weeks to teach a group of six Primary 3 children about impulse control. The purpose of these sessions is to teach the children the importance of impulse control and encourage them to practice it. Our first session was to teach them the importance of impulse control to avoid distractions when studying, through an interactive skit. Our second session was to teach them techniques to control their impulses to avoid distractions when studying. Our last session was to provide relatable scenarios in a role-play for them to understand and learn some ways they can do to avoid getting distracted when they face distractions in real life.
